Seattle in 48 Hours

I spent less than 48 hours in Seattle….

but sometimes the shortest trips end up being the most memorable. From the moment I landed, the Pacific Northwest greeted me with sunshine and crisp blue skies — an absolutely beautiful day in Bellevue that felt like such a gift for late September.

The highlight of the trip was heading to the Washington Huskies game with my family. There’s nothing quite like college football energy — purple and gold everywhere, the band echoing through the stadium, and I can still hear the buzz of the student section as sit here writing. It felt like the whole city came alive to cheer together, and being there with my family made it even more special. The Huskies were up against the #1 ranked Ohio State, and it was a battle. The stadium roared as Washington fought to protect their home field, but ultimately the Buckeyes pulled away, winning 24–6 . Even with the loss, the energy was electric and being there with my family made it unforgettable.

If you know me, you know I have been to MANY sporting events in my life and yes, I have experiemented with the game-day look. I’m not one to just throw on a sweatshirt and jeans. I layered a Washington Huskies quarter zip over a crisp white Lilly Pulitzer linen button-down, paired with a classic straight-leg medium wash jean. On my feet were my trusty Lilly Pulitzer tennis shoes with just the right touch of gold (so fitting!) and sparkle. For accessories, I carried my handmade clear bag — stadium-approved but still chic — and stacked on all the gold jewelry I brought for the trip. It was simple, sporty, and perfectly pulled together for a family football day.

Short trips like this remind me how important it is to step away from routine, even for just a day or two. It wasn’t a fashion trip, but it was full of family, memories, and that spark of energy you only get from traveling. Sometimes 48 hours is exactly what you need to reset.

And now, I’m writing this from the plane on my way home. Yes, it was a wonderful, short, event-filled trip — but I wouldn’t be completely honest if I didn’t tell you how much I was also keeping an eye on Milan Fashion Week. Let’s just say… to be continued….

Ciao
